Craving for some donuts?! These are the recipe for the homemade donuts
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons white vinegar
3/8 cup of milk
2 tablespoon of shortening
½ cup of white sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 quart of confectioner’s sugar for dusting
Direction:
- Mix the vinegar into the milk and wait for a few minutes till it is thick
- Put the sugar and the shortening into a bowl then mix until smoothly cream
- Beat the egg and the vanilla until it blended
Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the sugar mixture with the vinegar and milk mixture - Roll out the dough with 1/3 thickness and cut it with a donut cutter and wait for 10 minutes
- Pre heat the oil up to 375 degrees
- Fry the donuts until golden brown and drain the oil
- Dust the donuts with the confectioners’ sugar
